Karachi: Daraz officially announced its Black Friday 2017 dates at a large press conference on November 01st, 2017, here, at a press conference. This year The Black Friday Sale is a week-long event starting November 20; a new category will be unlocked every day, while post November 24, everything will be on sale.
It is pertinent to mention here that Daraz is the pioneer in setting trend on online shopping in Pakistan. Last year, the sale on Black Friday was over 01 billion PKR, this year the organizers are expecting over two billion sales in weeklong mega event. According to the Daraz officials they are offering up to 86 per cent discounts on various products.
Bjarke Mikkelsen, CEO Daraz, said, “We are proud to unveil our plans for this flagship sale event. In scale and magnitude, this is going to be huge. Black Friday isn’t just a sale; it’s an event, an experience. We’re working days and nights to ensure customer expectations are met and exceeded.”
One of the new attractions of Black Friday this year is the additional QR Code discount that shoppers may scan in order to redeem an additional PKR 500/= discount on the Daraz App. once the sale commences. The code has been displayed on flyers and billboards nationwide to generate intense excitement three weeks ahead of the sale.
The event is Co-Sponsored by Xiaomi, L’Oreal Paris, Unilever, Tarzz and Nestle. Other special offers include free Careem and Pizza Hut vouchers, with every Black Friday order.
The organizers are confident that it will be the biggest retail event Pakistanis have seen to date.
It may be mentioned here that the mega Online Sale during Black Friday, last year, had compelled the retailers of local markets to celebrate the event, as some of them observed it with ‘White Friday’, rather, because black is considered a colour of sorrow in various sections of our society.
